In January 1767 the flyer "Useful and enjoyable news" was
published in Aalborg for the first time and one of the country's
oldest newspapers was born. It is still alive - now known as
Nordjyske Stiftstidende and Denmark´s largest regional newspaper.
The newspaper is a part of Nordjyske Media Group, in addition to
the daily newspaper it counts 25 local weekly newspapers,
2 regional radios, a 24-hour regional news covering TV, a
distribution company, printing company and a range of
Internet portals. NORDJYSKE Media has repeatedly been elected
as one of the world's most advanced and future-proof media houses.
This includes the cross media way journalists and vendors are
working - and that applies the advanced technology that
ensures the possibility to rational produce the many media and let
the news and advertising jump from one distribution platform to
another.
By the formation of the NORDJYSKE media group in 2002 the
technology was not present. However, as later described:
Avit-Systems made it possible.
NORDJYSKE Media Group was founded when Aalborg
Stiftstidende Fund, Vendsyssel Tidens Fund and Aalborg Media
Company jointly decided to make NORDJYSKE Holding. This company
became owner of a number of media- and media-related activities to
ensure the Media company's future in the North, and ensure that
grant money for research and education - which is the fund's
purpose. As the holding company was founded, it consisted of
several legs, including the aforementioned media and development
company AM Production. This company was founded in 1987 and has
since been leading in the development of digital media. The idea
was and still is to use all skills and assess whether they can
develop into independent companies.
In 2007 one of those options became Avit-Systems A/S, which
currently has offices in Aalborg, Copenhagen, Stavanger, Oslo
and Stockholm. AVIT-Systems has currently a turnover exceeding 100
million. dkr.
AVIT-System is derived from the radio and TV workshop that
serviced the media back to the late 80s. Actually, as something of
a necessity because it was not possible to find systems that could
perform the task that had been formulated as a vision for the
electronic media. Therefore, "the workshop" very much became a
development workshop, including a real hard- and software
development. In 2002 it was decided to assess whether the
department could grow into a separate entity. Subsequently, there
has been placed a number of quotes within the professional
broadcast world. Several projects were won and implementation
showed that a company based on IT, software and advanced use of -
and distribution of data, just hit the reality that
professional users of audio and video meets.
And as a complement AVIT-Systems is an optimal combination with
the rest of AM Production: The Group has strong skills in
communication understanding through the division, SHRPA. Building
virtual universes through Digitales. Software development through
AM Interactive. Construction, operation and monitoring of IT
systems through AMIT. Digital signage through Signio. Settlement of
events through dblux and finally the development of 3D-audio to the
world market through AM3D with divisions in Denmark, Japan and
Korea.
There is thus no tasks within media and communications,
where the total AM Production group can not contribute.
Individually or collectively.
Following the decision to develop AVIT-Systems, the company has
undergone an exciting growth. In 2003 AVIT-Systems employed 8
persons in Aalborg and had an external turnover of 1 million. DKK.
Today AVIT-Systems have 25 employees in Aalborg, Copenhagen,
Stavanger, Oslo and Stockholm.
This means that AVIT-Systems is now one of Scandinavia's leading
